Hotdogs are a staple in Filipino breakfasts and party spreads. They’re usually pan‑fried until slightly crisp, then served with rice, eggs, or bread. In silog meals (like hotsilog), hotdogs are paired with garlic fried rice (sinangag) and a sunny side up egg.
Ingredients:
- Hotdogs (or regular hotdogs)
- Cooking oil or butter
- Banana ketchup (for serving)
- Steamed rice or bread (optional, for pairing)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare Hotdogs
- Slice hotdogs diagonally or make shallow cuts to prevent bursting.
- Pat dry with paper towels.
Step 2: Fry Hotdogs
- Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry hotdogs for 3–5 minutes, turning occasionally, until lightly crisp and browned.
Step 3: Serve
- Transfer to a plate.
- Serve with banana ketchup, steamed rice, or bread.
- For hotsilog, pair with garlic fried rice and sunny side up egg.
